David Price has done it. He’s cleared his name and redeemed the record books by pitching his way to a second World Series win (on short rest, now less). Seven innings on 89 pitches.
Boston gets the trophy, the Dodgers go home losers (again), and former Rays utility man Steve Pearce took home the MVP trophy for hitting three home runs this series.
The three players in competition for the MVP were the three former Rays on the Red Sox roster: Price for winning two games, Pearce for winning two games with his bat, and Eovaldi who pitched out of his mind in the 18-inning Game 3 that none of us on the East Coast should have stayed up for, but it still felt worth it.
