After the death of José Fernández on Sunday, the Tampa Bay Rays honored the Miami Marlins pitcher by hanging a jersey in their dugout during Monday’s game in Chicago with his name and number on the back.
Like other teams, the Rays used one of their own jerseys instead of a Marlins jersey. Paul Lukas of Uni-watch wrote about this yesterday and I agree with it 100%, so I will just let him take it from here:
“I saw some people on Twitter complaining that these teams should have used Marlins jerseys, instead of their own jerseys, which seems incredibly petty.
