Tampa Bay Rays activate Daniel Robertson, option Austin Pruitt

The Tampa Bay Rays activated Daniel Robertson prior tonight’s series opener against the New York Yankees. For the corresponding roster move, the Rays optioned Austin Pruitt to Triple-A Durham.

The Rays had placed Robertson on the 10-day disabled list on June 9th with an oblique strain. He went through a very brief rehab assignment with the Durham Bulls. It has been a breakout campaign for Robertson thus far in 2018.

The former top infield prospect has played in 56 games for the Rays and has hit 7 HR while he is slashing .257/.385/.423 over 213 plate appearances.
