Tampa Bay Rays 2B Brandon Lowe named to the American League All-Star roster

Brandon Lowe has been named to the American League All-Star team’s roster as a replacement for Tommy La Stella.

However, Lowe may be questionable for the game as he suffered a left leg contusion during Tuesday’s night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles; he is considered day-to-day with the injury.

After making his Major League debut last August, Lowe is having a fantastic rookie season for the Tampa Bay Rays and is among the front runners for the Rookie of the Year award.

Lowe is rewarding the Rays faith in him, as the team signed Lowe to a six year, $24M contract extension during spring training.
