PORT CHARLOTTE — Tampa Bay Rays principal owner Stuart Sternberg arrived Tuesday morning at the Charlotte Sports Complex and met with the media, talking about a variety of topics. Chief among them was, of course, the team’s stadium issue.
Now that the St. Petersburg City Council voted to allow the Rays to search for a new stadium site in Hillsborough County, the obvious question is, what’s next?
“It’s very early in the process,” Sternberg said. “We are working internally now. I won’t say at a feverish pace, but (a) very measured and very focused pace, but there’s a lot to cover.
