BOSTON -- Steven Souza Jr. wasn't in the starting lineup Saturday night against the Red Sox due to his bruised left knee, but the news was good following his MRI and X-rays on Saturday.
"We got good news from the MRI and the X-rays," Rays manager Kevin Cash said. "Everything came back negative. I think some soft tissue irritation to the knee. He hit it pretty good. We'll just see how he goes the rest of the day and see how he is tomorrow. But it's really day to day."
Souza ran hard into the side wall in right field in the fourth inning of Friday night's 9-3 loss to the Red Sox, injuring his knee while trying to take away a base hit from Christian Vazquez.
