BOSTON -- The Rays couldn't have stumbled more inelegantly out of the starting blocks this season. Skipper Kevin Cash's team lost eight of its first nine, including five one-run losses at the hands of the division-rival Red Sox.
But the Rays have gotten back up and are coming on at full sprint. Yet another terrific start from Blake Snell propelled Tampa Bay to a 4-3 win over the Red Sox at Fenway Park on Friday night, the team's seventh straight win for its longest winning streak since 2014.
Snell yielded two runs in 7 1/3 innings, striking out nine -- including five straight Red Sox hitters the first time through the order.
