SARASOTA, Fla. -- Drew Smyly retired all six batters he faced, Curt Casali was 3 for 3 with three RBI and the Tampa Bay Rays beat a Baltimore Orioles split-squad 10-6 on Saturday night.
Smyly missed most of last season with a torn labrum but finished 2015 strong. In this one, he struck out Chris Davis, Mark Trumbo and Matt Wieters in the second inning.
Kevin Kiermaier also had three hits for Tampa Bay.
The Rays scored six runs in the fifth and Baltimore answered with four in their half of the inning.
