ST. PETERSBURG -- Adeiny Hechavarria has reportedly won his arbitration hearing with the Rays and will earn a salary of $5.9 million for the 2018 season, according to USA Today. The club has not commented.
The team's offer to the slick-fielding shortstop had been $5.35 million. Hechavarria made $4.35 million in 2017. The hearing took place on Friday.
Hechavarria came to the Rays in a June 26 trade with the Marlins in exchange for Minor Leaguers Ethan Clark and Braxton Lee.
