Report: Forsythe gets 2-year deal with Rays

Following a breakout 2015 season, second baseman Logan Forsythe reportedly has signed a two-year, $10.25 million contract with the Rays, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. The club has not confirmed the deal.

Forsythe had been eligible for arbitration for the second time, after making $1.1 million last season. He still will be on track to potentially reach free agency following the 2017 season, but the Rays now would hold an $8.5 million option -- with a $1 million buyout -- for '18. The option has the potential to increase by another $2.5 million, in $500,000 increments, based on plate appearances.
