ST. PETERSBURG — If Major League Baseball officials are concerned about attendance in Tampa Bay, they did not do much to help boost crowds at Tropicana Field in 2020.
The Rays schedule released Monday afternoon does not have a single weekend series with the Yankees, but does include three weekends against the woebegone Orioles in May, June and August.
The Rays will open the season at home with a three-game interleague series against the Pirates on March 26, followed by a three-game set with the Yankees. Other interleague opponents coming to Tropicana Field include the Cardinals (July 10-12), the Brewers (May 30-31) and the usual two-game set against the Marlins (July 28-29).
