The series between the surprising Twins, who have the majors best record at 37-17, and Rays, who are a solid 34-19, would be intriguing enough as a clash between two of the top contenders in the American League.
But it’s even more interesting because it marks the first trip back to Tropicana Field for Rocco Baldelli as Twins manager, as the longtime Rays player, exec and coach was hired this winter in Minnesota.
"Being back in St. Petersburg means a lot to me,'' Baldelli told the Times on Wednesday. "It’ll be emotional. But it’s also something I’m really looking forward to.
