ST. PETERSBURG — The Rays will close out their three-game series with Oakland with a 12:10 start today at Tropicana Field.
Yonny Chirinos (7-2, 2.87 ERA) will be starting for Tampa Bay in his first appearance since throwing eight shutout innings at Boston on Friday. He sent down the first 15 batters he faced that game.
“You can see the confidence really probably at an all-time high, just with the results of his performances,” manager Kevin Cash said.
Lefty Brett Anderson (6-4, 3.98) will be starting for the A’s.
Two quick injury updates: Cash said Austin Meadows is a little sore but fine after fouling a ball off his right foot Tuesday night.
