There comes a time for every club and just about every player in spring training when the entire camp routine becomes a bit tired and boring. The Rays have reached that point.
That’s why the timing of the trip to Cuba to face the Cuban national team and tour the country could not have come at a better time, according to Rays manager Kevin Cash.
“This is coming at an ideal time,’’ Cash said. “Any club will tell you that you hit that staleness of spring training when you’re about two-thirds through, so this is a great time for this to be happening.
