MIAMI -- Kevin Kiermaier often impacts games with his defense in center field. On Monday night, it was his disruptive slide at second base that helped the Rays push across the go-ahead run in the seventh inning of their 4-2 win over the Marlins at Marlins Park.
The Rays grabbed the lead on Steven Souza Jr.'s fielder's choice RBI grounder to third with the bases loaded. Miami attempted to turn an inning-ending double play, but Kiermaier, who walked as a pinch-hitter, prevented Dee Gordon from making a throw to first.
