Rays prospects and minor leagues: McKay dominates GCL hitters

In 49 games with Double-A Montgomery, Jermaine Palacios hit .189 with a .502 OPS. The Rays sent him back to the Florida State League, where he finished last season while still with Minnesota. In 31 games with Charlotte, he’s batting .303 with a .770 OPS. Compared to last season with Fort Myers, his OPS is up 108 points, and his walk and strikeout rates have both improved. He turns 22 on Thursday.

Triple-A Durham Bulls (54-40)

Syracuse scored six runs against Jake Faria in Durham’s 11-5 loss. After the Bulls scored three in the top of the first, the Chiefs responded with two in the bottom half of the inning and four in the second.
