ST. PETERSBURG — Supertramp’s 1979 hit “Take the Long Way Home” played for the fans inside Tropicana Field as they made their way to the exits after Friday’s game, perhaps an invitation for them to enjoy what was left of their evening.
Or, perhaps it was aimed at the local club, which, if it took the long way home would be an improvement over the current practice of not taking any way home.
