BOSTON – Red Sox LHP David Price said Wednesday that he will give his old team a new look when he faces the Rays Thursday afternoon.
“I’ll probably just throw right-handed,” Price said. “Switch it up on them.”
This will be Price’s fourth start with the Red Sox, his fourth game into a seven-year, $217 million contract. That kind of money adds weight to the expectations of any player, let alone one who plays in front of the rabid baseball fans of New England. Remember Carl Crawford?
But Rays 3B Evan Longoria said if anyone can handle the heat from the Boston media and Red Sox nation, it is Price.
