TORONTO — There were six rookies in the Rays lineup Sunday, including RHP Matt Andriese, who was making his first start at the big level since July 7.
That number was upped to 10 after manager Kevin Cash used four rookie relievers, including RHP Steve Geltz, who allowed 3B Josh Donaldson’s walk-off home run that gave the Jays a 5-4 victory in front of another full house at Rogers Centre.
CF Mike Mahtook put the Rays up 3-2 with a two-run homer in the third inning. 1B Richie Shaffer made it a 4-1 lead with a sacrifice fly in the fourth.
