ST. PETERSBURG — The Rays reached agreements today with three of their 10 arbitration-eligible players on one-year deals for the 2016 season, according to a source close to the negotiations.
Left-hander Jake McGee agreed to a $4.8 million contract. Right-hander Alex Cobb signed for $4 million. Outfielder Brandon Guyer accepted a $1.185 million contract.
The Rays have until 1 p.m. Friday to reach agreements with infielder/designated hitter Logan Morrison, second baseman Logan Forsythe, outfielder Desmond Jennings, catchers Rene Rivera and Hank Conger and pitchers Drew Smyly and Erasmo Ramirez.
If an agreement is not reached with any player, the Rays, as is their policy, will end negotiations and proceed to arbitration.
