BALTIMORE — The ball found Logan Morrison eight batters into his regular season debut as the Tampa Bay Rays’ new first baseman, and things didn’t go as smooth as they have in the past when a ball was hit to a Rays first baseman.
This was a line drive off the bat of Toronto catcher Russell Martin. Morrison reached for it with his mitt, but could not make the catch. The ball deflected to his right, where second baseman Logan Forsythe scooped it up and threw to pitcher Chris Archer, who hurried to first base in time to get the out.
