The Rays were reportedly one of the teams bidding for the services of free agent catcher Tyler Flowers. However, Bob Nightengale reports that Flowers will sign with the Atlanta Braves.
Flowers is a plus-defensive catcher who spent parts of the last seven seasons with the Chicago White Sox. Last season, he hit .239 with 9 home runs.
Bryan Hoch had reported that Flowers was deciding between three offers, including the Rays and Yankees.
