The Rays have designated DH-LF Corey Dickerson for assignment.
Dickerson, who represented the Rays in the 2017 All-Star Game, had been acquired from the Rockies before the 2016 season for pitchers Jake McGee and German Marquez. Kevin Padlo was also part of that deal.
In Dickerson he slashed .282/.325/.490. He would have been paid $5.95 million this year.
The Rays may still be able to work out a trade for Dickerson. They have a ten day window, starting today, to do so. After that he would be put on waivers, where most likely another team would claim him.
