ST. PETERSBURG — Blake Snell gave credit to many after winning the American League Cy Young award on Wednesday, citing family, friends, former and current Rays teammates among others.
But he had special thanks for Kyle Snyder, who has been his pitching coach and confidant at several levels in the minors before joining him in the big leagues in 2018.
"He's helped me through a lot of good times, a lot of bad times, a lot of in-the-middle times,'' Snell said. "He's been the guy I've leaned on for a lot of my career, so a lot of this goes to him.
