Rays come up short again against last-place Orioles, lose 8-3

BALTIMORE – And now comes the hard part of the Rays schedule?

The Rays finished the supposedly soft August stretch in disappointing and somewhat concerning fashion on Sunday, losing a second straight game to the last-place Orioles, this one 8-3.

That gave them a 13-8 record for the run of 21 games against teams with losing records, the Marlins, Blue Jays, Mariners (twice), Padres, Tigers, and Orioles.

Their schedule gets notably tougher starting Tuesday, as they play at the AL-leading Astros then return home to face the Indians, whom they are battling, along with the A’s, for an AL wild card spot.
