PORT CHARLOTTE — “You don’t get to choose your career path,” Rays pitcher Alex Cobb said.
He certainly didn’t choose this one. Who would?
Cobb missed all of last season after Tommy John surgery. He’s throwing again but won’t pitch until the second half of this season, barring setbacks.
“You don’t want to put a date on it,” Cobb said. “You don’t want to put a date on it, because if things go a little awry in rehab, you don’t want to try to push through it. You have to be patient.”
Like always, Cobb is positive.
