The 26-year-old Johnson, who hits from the left side, has spent parts of three seasons in the Major Leagues with the White Sox, Dodgers and Braves, totaling 36 games (32 starts) at second base and four games (one start) in left field.
Johnson started the 2017 season on the disabled list following surgery to repair a fractured left wrist before hitting .295/.386/.396 in 45 Minor League games. He went on to appear in 18 games (one start) across three stints with Atlanta, where he was used eight times as a pinch-runner, eight times as a pinch-hitter and once as a defensive replacement.
