Rays beat Indians again, move to 10 over .500 at 73-63

CLEVELAND — Being the faithful company man, manager Kevin Cash made it clear that the final month of games should be important no matter what for his mostly young Rays.

But it's becoming increasingly obvious that those kids have their eyes on making September really interesting, pushing their way at least to the fringe, and they soon hope the front lines, of the fray for the second American League wild-card spot.

"Absolutely,'' said pitcher Ryan Yarbrough, one of a dozen rookies playing key roles. "I feel like it's one of those things where everybody in this clubhouse feels like we have a chance to be in the race and that we're not out of it yet.
