After their dramatic escape from Cuba (OK, no raft, but how many airplane peanuts can a guy eat?), the Rays, like all baseball teams, face the longest journey of all: 162 games.
“It’s no sprint,” Rays second baseman Logan Forsythe said. “Baseball is a different animal. It’s every day. It’s unrelenting.”
“It’s fair to say every team is going to win 60 and every team is going to lose 60,” second-year Rays manager Kevin Cash said. “And you go from there. What are you going to after that? Time to find out. Let’s go.”
When it comes to the Rays, I always start at 81-81 and go from there.
