ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rays activated outfielder Peter Bourjos from the disabled list prior to Thursday's series finale against the White Sox. He appeared in the lineup, batting ninth and playing left field.
In a corresponding move, the team sent pitcher Jacob Faria back to Triple-A Durham a night after winning his Major League debut.
Bourjos went on the DL on May 29 with a right elbow injury described by the team as tennis elbow. He played in three rehab games with Class A Advanced Charlotte this week before he was activated in the series finale against the White Sox.
