Rays 8, Jays 2: The Rays are ALDS-bound

What. A. Game.

The Rays went into today’s game with a singleminded determination, and their goal was to sweep the best-of-three Wild Card series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Early on in the second game of the series, it was clear they weren’t messing around with that mission.

The pitching matchup was one for the ages, but Tyler Glasnow, who struggled early in the season, was locked in immediately; meanwhile Hyun-Jin Ryu was off his game right out of the gate.

After a one-two-three first for Glasnow, Ryu gave up a single to Mike Brosseau — who was then tagged out trying to stretch it into a double — then gave up singles to Randy Arozarena and Brandon Lowe.
