Ramos struck with broken bat, exits game

ST. PETERSBURG -- Rays catcher Wilson Ramos had to leave Monday night's game against the Orioles after getting struck on his catching helmet with Ruben Tejada's broken bat in the fifth inning.

The blow appeared to push the mask to the front of Ramos' face, where it pinched or cut him, because the Rays' trainers applied a towel to his forehead.

Ramos received six staples to close the wound.

Jesus Sucre took over the catching duties.
