BOSTON -- It seems that the only thing that could tame the red-hot bat of Wilson Ramos was the injury bug.
The Rays catcher was in the midst of another big day at the plate, but after picking up his third hit of the day, a single to the center-field wall, he was removed for pinch-runner Jesus Sucre after being checked out by manager Kevin Cash and a trainer.
The team has not announced the reason for Ramos' departure.
Ramos got the Tampa Bay bats going with a leadoff double in the second inning, then hit a majestic home run over the Green Monster in the third.
