The safe play for the Washington Nationals would be to return Trea Turner to Triple-A for the start of the 2016 season, to give him more experience and get him settled as he begins his first full season in the organization. Danny Espinosa, respected by teammates for his defense, could hold down shortstop.
But here's the thing: The Nationals already know that Turner has no problem making adjustments, adapting from day to day or from one circumstance to another.
And Turner has the sort of speed that is rarely seen, the kind of speed that becomes a weapon, especially in the late innings when the score is close and one run can make a difference.
