The Tampa Bay Rays looked to secure the series victory and set up the possibility of a sweep tomorrow afternoon against the Baltimore Orioles.
Diego Castillo opened the game with two quick outs. Jonathan Villar walked ahead of Trey Mancini singling to put runners on first and second. With Chris Davis batting Villar was caught stealing third to end the frame.
A night after winning the race to 100 losses the Orioles showed one reason why their record is what it is. Mallex Smith led off the inning with a hard grounder hit directly to third baseman Renato Nunez.
