Odorizzi pitched effectively, holding the Red Sox hitless through five innings before Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a two-run homer in the sixth. The home run tied the game at 2 and gave the Red Sox their first and only hit against Odorizzi, who was lifted after the sixth.
Odorizzi remained the pitcher of record, claiming his ninth win of the season thanks to his batterymate, Jesus Sucre, who hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth off Boston starter Eduardo Rodriguez.
