MLB Trade Rumors: Impact of Brad Boxberger injury

Brad Boxberger's return to the Tampa Bay Rays lasted all of one night.

The All-Star closer is headed back to the disabled list after suffering a left oblique strain Tuesday night in Kansas City and could be sidelined for up to two months, reports Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.

Boxberger, who led the American League in saves last year with 41, missed the first two months of the season following adductor surgery in March.

Alex Colome, who was 12-for-12 in saves as Boxberger’s replacement, will return to the closer’s role with Erasmo Ramirez serving as the primary setup man.
