The Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay Rays reportedly have entered the sweepstakes for free-agent slugger Mike Napoli, who remains without a job after hitting 34 homers and driving in 101 runs last season for the Cleveland Indians.
Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN in Minneapolis reports the Twins are monitoring the seemingly stalled market for Napoli. “The longer this goes on, the Twins may be able to get a steal,” Wolfson says in his latest podcast.
Meanwhile, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times tweets the Rays have “checked in” on Napoli.
