The Tampa Bay Rays may have built plenty of center field depth in the past week, but that does not mean Gold Glover Kevin Kiermaier is leaving Florida’s Gulf Coast anytime soon.
The Rays acquired Mallex Smith in a trade involving Drew Smyly and agreed to a one-year, $5 million deal with Colby Rasmus, leading to some speculation that Kiermaier could land elsewhere.
A club official, however, tells Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports that the odds of a Kiermaier deal are “very unlikely.
