Martin Fennelly’s takeaways from Rays’ 7-6 win over Mariners

• Kevin Kiermaier broke out of a slump Tuesday and kept going Wednesday with four RBIs, including a tying home run leading off the ninth. He now has five RBIs in his past two games, after just one RBI in his first 13 games (11 starts) in August.

• Guillermo Heredia had two hits and a homer, but his best, maybe game-saving work, came in the fourth. With the Rays down 3-2, he ran down a deep fly from former Rays prospect Jake Staley in the rightfield corner that seemed destined for extra bases and two more runs.
