Marc Topkin’s takeaways from Rays’ 7-6 Tuesday win over Blue Jays:
* Jesus Aguilar made some good first impressions with the Rays in showing his power and his patience at the plate. Maybe Tuesday was just a bad day, but his play at first base appears to need some work as the Rays can’t afford to give away extra bases or outs.
* Andrew Kittredge is one of the unheralded contributors in the Rays pen, having earned his way back to the majors in mid-June. Kittredge showed that to start Tuesday, striking out the first five Jays swinging before eventually allowing a three-run homer.
