NEW YORK -- The Rays' Logan Morrison had to be removed from Sunday's game against the Yankees during a fourth-inning at-bat after he experienced discomfort in his left hand after fouling a ball off. Morrison, the No. 5 hitter, fouled off a 2-2 pitch from Luis Cessa, grabbed his hand and was immediately attended to by the Rays' training staff.

Morrison entered play Sunday batting .239 with 14 home runs and 43 RBIs. He struck out in his first at-bat during the second inning. Mikie Mahtook replaced him to finish the at-bat and hit the next pitch from Cessa for an inning-ending groundout.
