Rangers starter Colby Lewis hit Kiermaier in the left calf with a pitch in the first inning, which might have been a contributing factor.
Chrinos homered to lead off the sixth and Kiermaier gave chase as if he might make an attempt to rob the blast, but he never got off the ground.
After Chrinos rounded the bases, a Rays trainer and manager Kevin Cash went out to check on Kiermaier. A moment later, they accompanied him back to the bench.
