ST. PETERSBURG – There was plenty of excitement in the stands at Tropicana Field on Monday as an announced crowd of 20,441, roughly half talking advantage of a $2 ticket special, brought some noise on what otherwise would have been a quiet night.
The Rays reciprocated on the field, taking an early lead over the Orioles, falling behind in the sixth then going back on top on a three-run homer by Kevin Kiermaier and rolling to a 6-3 win that was their third straight as they improved to 49-36.
Ryne Stanek started for the Rays, his 24th turn as the opener and their 27th overall.
