Jake Odorizzi Placed on Disabled List with Strained Hamstring

Over the past three years, Jake Odorizzi has been one of the more consistent starters for the Tampa Bay Rays. While he may not be a staff ace, he has established himself as a solid pitcher, slotting into the middle of the rotation and providing generally worry free innings.

Now, the Rays will be without his services for at least ten days. Odorizzi has been placed on the disabled list with a strained hamstring, suffered in the first inning of the Rays game against the Red Sox. Chase Whitley has been recalled from Durham to take his place on the roster.
