Gomez clutch late, but lead vanishes in 9th

ST. PETERSBURG -- Trey Mancini's two-run double in the ninth sent the Rays to a 5-4 loss to the Orioles on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field.

The Rays moved back to .500 for the season at 57-57, and they are 4-4 on the current homestand.

Baltimore trailed, 4-3, heading into the ninth. Tampa Bay sent Sergio Romo to the mound to try to nail down the win, but the normally dependable right-hander allowed singles to Mark Trumbo and Danny Valencia to bring Mancini to the plate.
