Veteran LHP Jonny Venters makes his first career big-league start today as the Rays try to snap a five-game losing streak in a matinee road-trip finale against the Nationals.

Venters will serve as the game opener, tasked with getting 3-6 outs, with LHP Ryan Yarbrough slated to cover the bulk of the innings.

The Rays lineup has a different look, with Joey Wendle starting at SS and Brad Miller at 2B against Nationals RHP Tanner Roark.
