By the time the deadline was over, the Rays had made more moves than any other team. Gone was catcher Wilson Ramos, not surprising anyone. Gone too were Nathan Eovaldi, Matt Andriese, Jonny Venters, and yes, even Chris Sale.
Brought on were hot prospects, and the unexpected addition of Tommy Pham from the Cardinals.
While the Rays may not be competing for this season, they certainly appear to want to compete soon.
Still, with the help of hindsight, we’ve had some time to reflect on these moves and how we feel about them.
