Tampa native Ozzie Timmons will join the staff of the Triple-A Durham Bulls, the Tampa Bay Rays announced Tuesday.
Timmons, a Brandon High graduate and a former Devil Ray, coached last season at Double-A Montgomery. This will be Timmons’ ninth season in the Rays organization.
The Rays also named former big-league pitcher Charlie Haeger as a minor-league pitching coordinator. A knuckleballer, Haeger spent parts of five seasons in the majors with the White Sox, Padres and Dodgers.
