Batting second in the lineup, Duffy drew a walk from Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka and scored a run in the Rays' three-run first.
Brandon Lowe entered the game at second base in Duffy's spot in the lineup. Second baseman Joey Wendle shifted to third base.
CHICAGO -- Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant's left wrist was sore on Wednesday after he was hit by a pitch and sustained a left wrist contusion in Tuesday night's 6-0 loss to the Pirates at Wrigley Field.
